In the financial sector, CRAF will rate the following type of entities / structures:
- Banks
- Rating of Deposits /Deposit Programmes
- Certificate of Deposits (CDs)
- Subordinated Debt
- NBFI
- Rating of Deposits /Deposit Programmes
- Subordinated Debt
- Insurance
- Claims Paying Ability / Financial Strength Rating
- Securitization
Retail investor can look at the rating of a Bank / NBFI before putting money in their deposits. Also, they can ask for differential rates for different ratings. Corporates and SMEs can also do the same. Retail investors can look at the Claims Paying Ability rating of an insurance company before taking insurance or any other policy from them. Corporate investors too can use this as an input when taking casualty & insurance.
